Owen-limpics: Stair climb finals
The Owen-limpics were derailed a bit by the OHSU-limpics for a few days. But, our star athlete (Phelps who?) is at it again with record speeds up the stairs at the hotel in Portland.
Speaking of OHSU-limpics, Owen's visit brought home with it a new diet plan designed to put on some pounds. Owen is officially in the lightweight range, and the team up there wants to see him gain more weight. We do too. Owen still gets to drink Phenex, but now it's super-Phenex. He's got two additives in there to help him get the pounds on.
Owen said losing his competitive advantage in events like stair climbing would be OK with him... he enjoys the rough and tumble events more anyway... the ones that could use a little body mass.

Wreckage...
Owen was playing with Elmo. Things got very, very quiet, so I went to investigate. This is the scene I found!
Elmo appears to be awake...

Owen-limpics: Event Preparation
When Owen competes in the very fast and jerky events like Spoon Fencing, he knows the importance of stretching beforehand.
Sleep is also a very important component of peak performance. This NASA designed pre-event sleeping pod is perfect peak preparation. Word on the street is that the International Owen-limpics Committee might ban sleeping pods like these during the second Owen-limpiad. They are ,plain and simple, an unfair advantage.

Owen-limpics: Nightlife
Many people speak about the crazy nightlife at the Olympics that occurs due to the international melting pot of cultures. At the Owen-limpics, it's a wild melting pot of hues and colors in the sky. There's no wild party, but there is a wild view.

Owen-limpics: Day 4
Bubble Fencing. It's a discipline that takes skill, stamina, and a mom with a bubble gun. Owen hopes he can hang with the Korean bubble fencers. They were pioneers in the 'yell and swat' technique.

Owen was a guest at Taylor's first birthday bash today at River Forks Park. On the left is Connor, another N-R kid.
Happy birthday... and, nice hat!

Funny mirror
Some parents are criticized for letting the TV entertain their kids.
Does it count if the TV isn't turned on? Because... Owen really likes the big shiny box.

Crawlin
Owen is quite mobile now. He's picking up speed and precision when he sets out to get something. (notice the spoon in the foreground of the photo.)
He gets really excited when he is able to go get a toy, or in this case a cooking spoon, and then play with it. His 'Owen entertaining Owen' quotient is increasing rapidly.
