One of the things important for managing PKU is to log all of Owen's intake of calories. Owen's showing a bit of interest in helping with the log, which someday he'll do on his own.
By looking at Owen's log and comparing that to the results of the blood tests, we can get a good idea about what adjustments, if any, need to be made to his diet. It's really quite easy right now, with only two sources of food. But, once Owen starts eating solid foods, we'll need to track a bit more carefully.

Pachydermania!
Owen was wearing PJs with elephants on them (the print pattern) and had his big elephant on him as well. He didn't seem to mind.

Borrowed ski video
Carl, Mia, TooMia and Sophie posted this video from the trip to Sunriver. Skiing with the little ones is a whole lotta fun!
Thanks Schreiners!

Sitting up
Owen is borrowing a Bumbo from Sophia. It helps him sit up all on his own, and apparently is pretty comfy. Thanks Sophie!

Ski Trip!
We all went skiing in Bend. Owens skis are a bit more complicated than Dad's, but they provided quite a good time.
It was bright out, so both Mom and Owen were wearing their shades.
The Schreiners also had Sophia (Owen's girlfriend) out for the day of skiing as well. This photo is at Messner Shelter, the turnaround point for the day.
So, if anyone is asking 'do babies like ski days?'... let this photo answer that question. The ski sleds are pretty cush rides, I don't think there's any reason to complain.

The look...
This is the look Owen uses when he wants to get his way. It means "I'm very dissappointed in you, dad. Get your act together." It works.

One Quarter
Today, Owen is exactly three months old. So, at this point he is: Laughing... sometimes histerically, rolling front to back and back to front, sitting up with a little bit of pillow-wedging help, bouncing in his jumper swing, singing to his mom after he eats, and eating tons. We think he's in the spurt of all growth spurts. I'd give a weight, but we don't have a clue where he's at. He's got to wait another month before he goes in for his second set of shots, and he won't visit the metabolic clinic at OHSU until after that visit. But, in all reality... that's OK. We care more what he's doing, not how big he is...
Happy 3 months, Owen!
Also, Owen has a new Friend. One of Dad's biking buddies just had another little one. So, if you hear Owen talk about his friend Corbin... you'll know the connection. Congrats Scott and Kim!

For no reason: part 2
I was looking through a recent batch of photos, and this one stuck out as a good one to post for no reason. Enjoy.

Saturday!
Finally, a Saturday with Dad at home and nothing to worry about but Owen. The day started out with a knuckle sandwich.
The next activity was a good chunk of time in the bouncy chair. He's learned that it's more fun if there's some holding on happening with the ropes.
Other activities for the day included a shopping trip, stopping at Fundamental Bike to look at a new kind of bike trailer that also works for skiing, so Owen can go cross country skiing with Dad in the winter and bike riding in the summer. Then a trip to Freddies to grab some grub found us with some great deals on clothing in the 3-6 month range. Since Owen turns 3 months next Friday, we figure we better have the wardrobe up to date.
Tomorrow is the Super Bowl game at Grandma and Grandpa's house. For Owen, it's Super Bowl I.
